Open group leader position/Associate professor in Bioinformatics (Cheminformatics / Computational chemistry)
We are seeking a new group leader at the Computational Biology Unit who will be employed in a permanent position as associate professor also affiliated with the Department of Chemistry. The group leader will be part of the vibrant, interdisciplinary environment at CBU currently counting nine research groups, a staff of 55, pursuing research in the area of computational life science. The research groups at CBU research includes systems biology and computational modelling, medical genomics, proteomics and personalized medicine, structural bioinformatics as well as RNA biology. CBU is coordinating ELIXIR Norway, the Norwegian node of the pan-European bioinformatics infrastructure, the NORBIS national research school in bioinformatics and biostatistics, and is central in the Digital Life Norway national centre for transdisciplinary biotechnology. We seek an ambitious group leader with specialization within cheminformatics or computational chemistry. The successful candidate will build his / her own research group and engage in teaching and supervision.

We are oﬀering three openings for unpaid internship, and two MSc
thesis projects starting January 2021. The subject area is mathematical
modeling with applications in Systems Biology and Computational Ecology.
Each internship project can also be extended to a MSc thesis.
