New funding to ELIXIR Norway on FAIR data management
ELIXIR Norway, coordinated by the University of Bergen through its Computational Biology Unit, was recently awarded funding from the Infrastructure program of the Research Council of Norway. The BioMedData project is focused on FAIR management and sharing of molecular life science data, and includes collaboration with 10 national data generating infrastructures, many of them linked with ESFRI projects. In addition, CBU is partner on a European H2020 grant, ELIXIR Converge, that will build data management capacity including a network of experts and data management toolkit on the European level. Together, the two projects will allow us to build a much stronger activity in data management and FAIR data sharing, and also enable us able to support a large number of research groups in Norway, says director of CBU and Head of ELIXIR Norway, Professor Inge Jonassen.
