Sean Bankier – New Postdoctoral Researcher
Sean Bankier is our new Postdoctoral Researcher in the Michoel group at the Department of Informatics.
Sean did his PhD in Systems Genetics at the University of Edinburgh, studying the tissue-specific consequences of genetic variation influencing plasma cortisol by applying causal inference methodologies to multi-omics datasets. He will work on the NFR funded project “Intelligent systems for personalized and precise risk prediction and diagnosis of non-communicable diseases”. The aim of his project will be to implement a proof-of-concept application in cardiovascular medicine of novel algorithms for predicting disease risk using large-scale, multi-organ causal Bayesian gene networks.
